Refurbishing Our Swing Set

When we bought this house a year ago, the one thing that I was really excited about was the swing set. I had one as a child and I thought that my kids would love one, but for whatever reason we never had the money available to buy one. Now that one conveniently came with the house that we bought, I didn’t have an excuse as to why we didn’t have a swing set.

But the truth of the matter was that it was in rough shape. I could tell that it had not been used in a long time and fell into a state of disrepair. The plastic swing seats were mostly broken and cracked because of sitting out in the sun too long. I could see the potential though, and I knew that with a little tender love and care, it could be useful again.

I made a list of the swing set hardware that I would need for the project, and I am going to go down to the local hardware store to see what I can find. I know there will be some pieces that I will have to special order, but it would be nice to pick up some of them locally so I can get started on the project. I can’t wait to see my kids playing on the swing set – that alone will make the project worth my time.
